Air pollution makes chronic Lyme disease worse

Is Air Pollution Making My Chronic Lyme Disease Illness Worse in 2022?

Have you ever asked yourself, “Is air pollution making my chronic Lyme disease worse?” I have.air pollution and chronic Lyme disease

Ever since I went north to the little subarctic town of Dease Lake again in the summer of 2019, I have been asking that question.

My fatigue and pain have been getting worse again.  In fact, I am adding one of supplements back into my protocol that helped me early on, because of it.

But in 2019, when I was in Dease Lake for just under a week, all my symptoms pretty much disappeared.

Yet here on the BC south coast, they continue to get worse.  But it’s even worse in the spring, when the pollen season hits. That could be partly due to climate change, which seems to be causing more pollen to be in the air than ever.  At least, that’s what allergy-sufferers and some of the experts are saying.

But there’s another culprit here – air pollution.

There was a time when you could clearly see Vancouver Island from the BC Sunshine Coast.  It was crystal clear and beautiful on sunny days.  But over the years, that has changed. It is very rare, now, to see the Island clearly. There is a perpetual haze that is not simply clouds.

For one thing, it’s the wrong color. It just isn’t quite white, like water vapor clouds. What it is is smog, otherwise known as air pollution.

It becomes even more apparent when you go up into the mountains and look down at this “pristine” area.  It’s no longer pristine.  The air is now brown. Brown air is definitely not pristine and worse, it is terrible for your health.

For those of us suffering from chronic Lyme disease or any other chronic illness, air pollution is really awful. That’s because we’re already on system overload without adding in poison air. Make no mistake – when you can see the air and what you see is brown, it’s not healthy!

So – we do happen to be moving north to Dease Lake for other reasons (see my blog at www.DaveCottrell.com ), so we’ll keep you posted.
